How to add a collaborator to a repository in GitHub
Learn how to invite a collaborator to your GitHub repository and assign them the right permission level to start contributing.
Steps
- Confirm addition with green add button — With the desired user selected in the modal, move to the green add button to confirm adding them as a collaborator to Task-tracker.
- Search for collaborator inside modal — In the Add people to task-tracker modal, type the GitHub username into the search field so matching user results appear below with add controls.
- Click Add people in Manage access — In the Manage access section on Collaborators and teams, click the Add people button to open the Add people to task-tracker modal.
- Switch to collaborators and teams tab — Navigate within Settings to the Collaborators and teams tab so you can view the Manage access section and the Add people button.
- Open repository general settings page — Switch from the Code tab to the repository Settings so you land on the General tab with name, template, branch, and preview options visible.
