An Explainer Video is a screen and webcam recording that you can edit with voiceover, captions, and other elements after recording. It's one of the three Flo formats you can create in Floik.
Explainer Videos are suited for marketing content, personalized outreach, and how-to walkthroughs where a narrated video format works better than a clickable demo or a written guide.
How to create an Explainer Video
- From the Floik homepage, click Create New.
- When prompted to select format, select Explainer Video.
- Choose whether to enable or disable webcam and microphone access, then click Continue.
- Select the tab, window, or screen you want to record, then click Share.
- Click Start recording. Recording begins within a few seconds.
- When you're done, either click Stop sharing at the top of your screen or return to the Floik tab and click Finish and save recording.
- Wait for the recording to finish processing. The video then appears in your workspace.
- Use the Edit panel on the right to refine and enhance the video.
- Click Publish now to make the video accessible to everyone.
Best practices
- Enable your webcam if you want a presenter overlay — this can be added or adjusted later using the Recording element, even after the initial capture.
- Use the Edit menu to add elements like voiceover, subtitles, or background music before publishing, rather than re-recording.
- Double-check your screen or window selection before clicking Share to avoid capturing the wrong content.
