The Zoom element lets you zoom into a selected area of your recording for a set period of time. It's available for both Video and Interactive Demo Flos.
Why add a zoom
Zooming into a specific area draws the viewer's attention to important actions or details that might otherwise be easy to miss, such as a small button, a field, or a specific part of the screen. It's useful for making complex workflows easier to follow.
How to add a zoom
- Open the Flo you want to edit.
- Go to Add elements in the Edit panel and select Zoom. The Zoom configuration panel opens.
- Turn on Hide other elements to temporarily hide any other elements you've already added — like highlights, CTAs, or text — so you can see the underlying recording clearly while positioning your zoom.
- Drag the zoom element across the screen to specify the exact area you want to zoom into.
- Set the Start time and End time to control exactly when the zoom appears.
- Choose an Animation speed — Slow, Medium, or Fast — to control how the zoom transitions in and out.
- Click Preview to see the zoom effect before saving.
- Once you're done customizing, click Apply. A panel listing your applied zoom appears, showing its speed and time range.
- To add another zoom, click Add zoom again. Multiple zooms can't be applied within the same timeframe.
Managing existing zooms
- To make changes to any existing zoom, click it to open and edit it.
- To remove a zoom, use the three-dot menu next to it and click the delete icon.
Best practices
- Keep zoom windows short and focused on a single action or detail — avoid zooming into large areas that don't add clarity.
- Use Slow for detailed or text-heavy areas viewers need time to read, and Fast for quick call-outs.
- Avoid overlapping zoom timeframes; plan your zoom placements against the recording timeline first if you're adding several.
