How to pause and resume during a recording?

Pause and resume your Flo recording anytime using either the floating help icon or the Floik extension tab. It’s a flexible way to refine your recording without starting over.

Crafted using Floik

Pause and resume lets you stop a recording temporarily and pick it back up in the same Flo. There are two ways to pause, depending on how your Floik extension is set up.

Why use it

Recordings rarely run start to finish without interruption. Pausing gives you time to set up the next part of your workflow, cover sensitive details, or fix on-screen text without ending the recording and starting over. Everything stays in one Flo.

How to pause from the floating icon

Use this method when the Floik extension isn't pinned.

  1. Start recording your Flo.
  2. Click the Floik icon floating in the top-right corner of your screen. The recording pauses immediately.
  3. While paused, add blur or edit text as needed.
  4. Click Done once you have added the blur.
  5. Click Resume recording to continue your Flo from where you left off.
How to pause from the Floik tab

If the Floik extension is pinned, the floating icon doesn't appear. Pause from the Floik tab instead.

  1. Return to the Floik tab.
  2. In the recording pop-up, click Pause recording. Your recording pauses.
  3. While paused, add blur or edit text as needed.
  4. Click Resume recording to continue your Flo from where you left off.
Best practices
  • Pause before you move to a screen with sensitive information, then add blur before you resume.
  • Use pause instead of stopping when you need a moment to set up the next step, so the workflow stays in a single Flo.
  • Plan where your pauses will fall before you start. Fewer, well-placed pauses mean less cleanup while editing.
